I see absolutely no reason to think that this ability is paranormal. It is certainly exceptional, but exceptional is not the same thing as paranormal. It is certainly not understood, but not understood is not the same thing as paranormal.
It terms of raw "computing power" the brain has plenty of capacity for doing these things. What we don't understand is how that power is marshaled in these cases to these very specific tasks.
So, what scientific "laws" as currently understood appear to you to be violated here?
