Unless you have ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder) you'll be in beta and out of Alpha most of the time, more importantly, most of the time that you're with your open eyes, doing something, like walking, eating etc.
You can be in alpha, though, when you're awake but daydream, like for example when you drive and the you suddenly notice that you were kinda off for some time and don't remember arriving to where you are now. But most of the time, when you're fully alert, you'll be in beta.
Of course, I can't fully understand what you mean that you felt "out of it". Perhaps you relaxed very well the previous evening with this technique and had a good night sleep and the next morning you were more relaxed than usually. And if you're regularly like to be all tight and tense, then you felt "out of it". Perhaps it's something else, though, since, again, I don't know what you meant exactly. |
