Greetings to all,
Not aware of how else to do this post, to include two replies.

Regarding whether the source is internal or external and the body is used as a vessel, I would like to ask the following question: Can it be both?

I have read examples where one's own body was thought to be the source, which caused a drained / exhausted feeling when the healing was completed. I would assume that if the "vessel" method was used that the healer's own energy levels would maintain or possibly increase.

So could it be both, depending upon how one wishes to channel it?

I've heard explanations both way.
Both that healer can be just a channel and that he can use his own energy.
I don't know what to do with it.

Ah yes, how does one begin to explain the unexplainable ! So yes, a belief factor enters. Ones soul / spirit ambiance enters. Ones desire to help enters. Where one learned the process enters. This listing of " enters ", is quite long, to even get close to a lists, end, and then, one could still be missing the real truth of it all.
Desire, intent, and application, are the basics of all healing, by healers.
Willingness to accept a healing, by the one wanting to be healed, and this aspect is quite complex, and would again take, many thousands of words to describe why one would accept or decline a healing, at some level of their being. For now, will stay with the healer portion of this post. Strange as it may seem, and the problems it poses, a healer can have infirmities, be ill themselves, and / or even have a flavored past, and be a strong healer. One can be a kissing cousin to an angel, and fail at healing, if one can call it that. The healer need not even have a belief in healing, but if there is a strong desire and intent to heal, it will be so. All matter has energy, so we as humans also have life energy flowing, for our own use. ( I call it the God force, for lack of words or understanding to describe it ) One will diminish their own energy level, if they are not thinking correctly.( describing the correct thinking aspect, would again take many words ) So for now, lets go with this. Ones healing thinking, starts the connection. Ones healing intent, causes / creates a connection to that higher source, that I call God. The very mention of the God word, can be a source of conflict with many. So use what ever word, you would be comfortable with. It will not affect what you are doing, or intend to do, healing wise. The aura can be measured, if one has a strong aura, with good colors, you can heal. If the aura is weak, you will diminish your own energy level. So how does one get a strong auric level.
Proper intent and desire, with meditation, is the starting point. Now, that energy for healing ( regardless of from where ) is not a constant. It is not always strong. The engines, so to speak, must be cranked and started up, to make the proper connections. If any part of desire or intent is weak, so will all the healing aspects be weak. There are times when I am not at a fully charged energy level. Yet when some asks, for any healing assistance, a surge from " some where", kicks in and replenishes the reserve level. When one gives a hug, a kind word, a back massage, a kind thought, you are doing healing, and you are using energy to do so. There is no such thing as bad karma ( energy ) , but there is a balancing of energy, that is commonly called karma, with negative connotations that can take place. Energy is neither good or bad, it just is, Energies that one has, or uses, is like the electricity that we use everyday, but no one can truly explain it. Oh yes, one can describe electricity, but not explain the how of it.
Enough for now. Be Well.
