Can you feel energy?

I'd like to know if you think/know that you can feel the life-force energy?
Either in your body, in your hands or from other people.
How does it feel to you?

Hi Jacob. I am new here. I just found this site this morning while doing a google for "energy in hands." I can feel it, I have to admit, and I am finally going to stop ignoring it and try to figure out why it is there. I have had it since I was a small child; I'm now 38. By the time I was a teenager, not only could I feel energy in my hands, but I just "knew" things ahead of time. It became so intense for me that I prayed that God would take the "gift" away from me since it didn't match up to what the church taught. He took away a good portion of the "knowledge" but not the hand energy. I have since realized that the knowledge was a gift and I have prayed for it to return, but I am a little bit afraid that I will become overwhelmed, and I think that is why it has not come back very strong, but the energy in my hands at times can be very intense. Any suggested readings so that I can discover what the energy is there for, and what purpose it has? BTW: When I was a teenager my school had a professor from U.C. Davis come for a few days to show us the potential powers of the mind and learn about subliminal advertising. I saw amazing things after being put in a different state of mind due to mediation in his class. After the class was over he made a direct path to me and told me that I had one of the biggest auras he had ever seen. Does this have anything to do with the energy I feel

Hello, texgirl.

It sound like an interesting story you have there. I believe that the energy in hands can be used for healing. At least, I've learned several energy healing techniques and all involve energy emanating from the palms of the hands.

Also, from what I've learned, large auras are a sign of a large energy capacity in you. My healing teacher told me that large aura (or biofield, like she called it) is almost a necessity in order to heal with energy.

Thank you Jacob for the links. I will try these techniques. You said the "palms" and you are right, that is where I feel it, and it is unlike any other sensation I have experienced. I am looking forward to reading up on it.

I feel the energy in my hands, both in my palms and fingers. As I have been teaching energy healing for a while, I think that this comes so naturally to me now. When I see people hurting, my hands will often start tingling with energy, even when I am not trying to do anything!

I can also see energy in other people, but I know that not all people have developed this ability - when I teach I can see the blocked energy in people, which hand is running stronger energy, etc.

It is such an amazing feeling when one first makes this discovery.

Another interesting question, you pose here.
As stated in other posts, can only reference that which takes place with me. Have endeavored to critique and analyze healing energy. Numerous other questions arise during that process. Really happening, fake, imagination, hot, cold, placebo effect, religion, spiritual level, upbringing, and the list grows, into a " what, really is this process of energy healing about! ". Some what like electricity, many talk and speak of it, using various terms. No one, actually says what electricity " is ". We use it daily, but don't actually know " what " it is. Yes, one can describe it on " how it's generated and used ", but " where does it come from ?" That is what I'd like to know. Same with " healing energy ". Difficult to explain " what one is feeling " while using that energy. Yes, it appears that the palms of the hand are prime to feeling the sensations. How to describe that feeling is nebulous, when speaking about an ephemeral process.
While a friend was ( without my being aware of it ) taking a video of me doing a healing session, here, to the best of my recollection, are feelings I had. Now, there were a few preliminaries, performed, before I went to " level " and did what is shown in the video. ( link below ). I used the palms to find hot or cold spots. The individual, had expressed some specific areas of discomfort. Some area feelings corresponded to that which I was feeling, but not all. As I went into " level ", my strong " feeling tone "was " do the whole body ". That, I proceeded to do. Some areas were warm, some were cool but not hot, some places, gave no " feeling tone sensations ". Keep in mind that the video, is not in actual time. the actual session, lasted approximately an hour. So, most areas, showing, my hands, at certain areas, were " held still " at that spot " for various lengths of actual time. I would move my hands, according to an " inner " voice, that prompted, going on to another area. Impossible to actually describe, what was being felt. More like a " knowing" as opposed to a "feeling sensation ". Do I feel this energy, any other time, no. When I inquire of the person, " what were you feeling ", here again, there was no correlation to what I was feeling, but their answers ranged from, hot, cold, tingle, nothing, and strange. In only one instance, of many " healing " sessions, did I get a " felt nothing at all ". Most, but not all did express " feeling better ", after the healing session. So, felt or not, seems that healing sessions, do help /work, regardless of what is felt, or as in some situations ,not felt.

I use a few methods, as my hands are positive and negative, i sense bad energy in people with my left hand and also i can pull this bad energy out with my left, my right hand can put positive energy in, the other method is to put my hands either side of the pain like a foot out, this is what i call the battery effect, positive and negative energies gives a neutralising effect on the pain. The other is the Chakra energies, hands about six to eight inches hovering over the Chakras, the energy then gets sucked in until it feels like it pushes, i let it push to about two foot its then i know the Chakra is healed or spinning correctly, also i can spin Chakras with my finger and thumb.

I always been confused when it comes to energy..When people talk about how they can feel vibes, does it mean energy?
Reading posts, I don't think I feel energy. However, I always said I feel vibes. If I walk into a room, or even if I stand next to someone, I either get a sense of caution, excited, happy, anger, irritated, or curious. And I would use these emotions as a perception of what type of person I'm dealing with or talking to. I just thought it was what everyone calls "vibes". Then, I noticed not a lot of people around me never experienced that. Then, I know people who have. It's confusing.

As he says, the problem is that "energy" has a specific meaning, but is used in many different and sometimes vague ways on sites like this.
