  • What is Homeopathy? And how it works? What are sources of medicine?

Homeopathy is system of medicine like conventional medicine. It works by stimulating the body's defence system. The medicines are derived from plant. mineral, and animal kingdom

    what is homeopathy?

Homeopathyis non-toxic system of medical science originated in Germany by Dr. Friedrich Samuel Hahnemann (1755-1843) (the founder and father of homeopathy). He was M.D. in conventional medicine. He realised his own school of medicine (conventional) was not helping the patients and spent years researching on homeopathy. The term “homoeopathy” was coined in 1807.

The four fundamental principles of Homeopathy are: -
    1. Law of similars/Like cures like (1796): Disease can be cured by a medicinal substance given in micro doses that produces similar symptoms in health people when given in large doses.

    2. Law of minimum dose (1801): Infinitesimally small dose (only that amount of medicine is administered which is sufficient to cure the disease, not more that that, that means no overdosing) of potentised medicine to stimulate your innate healing powers. Potentisingthe medicine increases it collative medicinal powers through dynamisation (serial dilution and succussion/trituration) and avoids unwanted side-effects.

    3. A single remedy (one remedy at a time) based on totality of the symptoms (1810):depending upon their constitution/totality of the symptoms which includes physical, mental, and emotional aspects/symptoms. This results in individualization i.e. it may require different medicine for different people suffering from same disease

    4. Hering law of direction of cure (1845): Cure progresses from above downwards, from within outwards, from more important organ to less important one, in reverse order of coming of the symptoms

      how does homeopathy works?

Homeopathic medicines stimulate your body's homeostatic mechanism so your body heals itself by dealing with the sources of your symptoms. This stimulus assists your system in clearing itself of any expressions of imbalance. The homoeopath gives you a medicine or remedy which matches your symptoms as you experience them, and which takes into account you as a person - your individual characteristics emotionally as well as physically.
Here's an example of how this works. Think of your "natural regulator" as your internal temperature gauge. If you go outside and it is very hot, your body will recognize it is too hot and begin to perspire. Your homeostatic mechanism is producing a symptom - perspiration - in an effort to cool down the body. If you go outside and it is very cold, the symptom is shivering. Your homeostatic mechanism is trying to warm the body up by shivering to produce heat.
Think about the last time you were shivering. You could not control it, and you did not stop until you were warm. It is the same way with homeopathic medicines. If you are ill and your body is showing symptoms, the symptoms will not disappear until the source of the symptoms has disappeared.
Homeopathic medicine’s main action is through taste buds, esophageal canal, stomach and intestine (part of immune system), even through nasal and skin area, and in response to antigenic attack on body very specific antibodies are released which destroys the antigenicity of the organisms and there is no drug resistance as such, because own defense systems comes into action each time there is an attack of organisms.
Homoeopathic action begins as the medicine touches the moist surface of tongue from where it directly goes into circulation of a huge network of nerves which is spread like miles in the body system, nerves are spread like electric wires in the body and from the tongue or olfactory nerves it reaches to a very specific point of weakness in immune system and starts correcting or boosting or strengthening it. Likewise you can imagine how accurate the potency and wavelength of the homoeopathic drug, each of which carries a very specific WAVELENGTH and identity and can enter the weak points of a diseased individual in matter of microseconds when the drug and the disease is matched accurately!!! So wrong medicine does not bring about any cure, and is mere waste of effort.

sources from which homoeopathic medicines are prepared?

The medicines are derived from following sources:

Plant Kingdom: Herbs and plants are from plant kingdom such as Belladonna atropa (Deadly Nightshade) , Calendula Off (Marigold), Arnica Montana (Leopards bane), Crocus Sativa (Meadow saffron)

Mineral Kingdom: Most of the elements and compounds like metals, salts, alkali, and acids are from mineral kingdom such as Sulphur, Calcarea Carb (Calcium Carbonate) , Nitric-Acid, Natrum-Muriaticum (Common Salt)

        Animal Kingdom:

There are other 4 classes of homeopathic medicine-Nosodes, Sarcodes, Impondarablia, Tautopathic.

In true homeopathy, is not the active ingredient watered down to the point of virtual non-existence?

Since "the late 18th and early 19th century", a lot has been learned about germ theory and disease, and physics.

            diluted enough

Homeopathic medicines of 12C potency and above have virtually no active ingredient. They just carry the energy and dynamic force of the original substance. This energy stimulates the vital energy of the body thereby initiating positive action and thereby raising immunity.

All medicines below 12C potency have active ingredients.

              Sounds good.

What type of "energy" is retained?

              What is "dynamic force"?

Do these exist within or outside of our understanding of physics?

                dynamic/vital force

Vitalism is the metaphysical doctrine that living organisms possess a non-physical inner force or energy that gives them the property of life.

Vitalists believe that the laws of physics and chemistry alone cannot explain life functions and processes. Vitalism is opposed to mechanistic materialism and its thesis that life emerges from a complex combination of organic matter.

The vitalistic principle goes by many names: chi or qi (China) prana (India and therapeutic touch), ki (Japan); Wilhelm Reich's orgone, Mesmer's animal magnetism, Bergson's élan vital (vital force), etc. American advocates much prefer the term energy. Many kinds of alternative therapies or energy medicines are based upon a belief that health is determined by the flow of this alleged energy. For examples, see Ayurvedic medicine, therapeutic touch, reiki, and qigong.
