    Hello forum.

I am back with a different username as, despite the intervention of the administrators, there was no way of having the old one to work. I have been absent for a long time, as I have been working hard on a new project.

My name is Piero Calvi-Parisetti. I am a Scottish/Italian MD, university professor and grief counsellor. In my counselling activity, I use a patient education approach openly and resolutely based on empirical and scientific evidence for life after life.

The big project that has occupied me for the last two years (about 2,000 hours of work...) is a series of 30 video lectures - an 8-hour adult education course on evidence for the afterlife, specifically tailored for the bereaved and the dying. This is a professionally produced course, of academic level but delivered in a manner that makes it easy to follow by anybody.

If you have a moment, you can watch an introductory video and the first module at For the bereaved | drParisetti

I look forward to more interesting discussions, as I used to have up to a couple of years ago.

    Piero

From a complete skeptic, over the years I've gradually done a complete 180 degree turn and after many experiences of a supernatural type, I have to hold my hands up to being a total non skeptic albeit with a set of beliefs that has been conditioned by my own personal journey.

I started to practice yoga in my 20s although purely for relaxation. At that stage I thought the esoteric aspects of yoga were fantasy! After raising the children and seeing them launched I retrained as an acupuncturist and kinesiologist. Subsequently I've trained as a counselor too.

I've worked for 13 years as a professional therapist and I've also taught yoga for the same length of time. It has been an interesting and challenging time and I feel privileged to have gained so many insights into the true nature of life. I have very strong alternative views of illness and healing and recently published two e-books and was asked to author an e-course on natural healing of the spiritual aspects of disease.

If you did, thanks for reading
Hi Yo Chris... thx for joining. A long time ago my yoga teacher alerted me to the fact that many of us start yoga thinking we're on one path only to find later we were walking a parallel path at the same time.

pls link us to your books and e-course

        • Hi everyone

          Hi,

I am new here. I am just starting to learn about alternative medicine. I used to never believe in alternative medicine, but it has help a very close friend of mine a year ago. So now I am trying to learn as much about it as possible. My friend does not want me to get into details because he feels embarrass about it. I don't see why, but I'll keep his story to myself. Looking forward to learning from everyone here.

          Jenny

            • Hello everyone,

My name is Matthew. I'm new here, well not so really. I signed up last week and have finally summoned up the courage to post my first post. I decided to join the community to seek answers and to see if there are those who've had similar experiences to my own.

I've been able to astral project myself without meditation. One such incident is available on the internet. I appeared as an orb, though I did have a little difficulty in being in that state. In fact, it was very unstable.

Its because of this, plus many more that I've experienced that I believe that this universe is full of forces to which we know very little of, and to which I believe we've barely scratched the surface.

              Cheers

                Hello there AlphaOmega

I am completely with you that there is much we haven't yet unpicked about this universe. I have experienced things that in my earlier life I would have considered beyond belief. Thanks for coming here and sharing with us. I hang out on the Skeptiko forum as well at Skeptiko. They have some moderated forums there where the sceptics have to be nice even if it is through gritted teeth.

If you need help or info let me know and I will point you in the right direction if I can. There is a wealth of knowledge amongst the team and a good few clucks as well. Use the Ignore button in your user panel if you need to. There is a lot of intellectualism and endless argy-bargy here but you will find people like yourself here too.

                All the best,
                Jules

                  New critter on the forum.

And where to begin, well first Iím only 80 this year, live in the huge state of Connecticut ~60 miles north of NYC and am just now looking to re-acquaint myself with my long time ago emergent psychic abilities.

Low these many years ago I had two experiences that I suppressed for whatever reason I do not remember. The first was when I had let my wife or future wife use my car for the day while I was at my job.

When she came to pick me up that evening she told me she had bought me something. My response? ďI knowĒ, a statement of fact that came out of nowhere, no conscious feeling, no tingling, no nothing just a knowledge that she had gotten me something but only after she said something. Well itís hard to describe the moment.

There was something of surprise and skepticism on her face. To make a long story short she went through a whole list of questions while growing more distressed as I answered each correctly; what it was she bought, the size and how much it cost. The only thing I answered incorrectly was the color. The thing was that like the first time there was no hesitation on my part and without hesitation answered her questions. There was no conscious knowledge, the answers came without bidding.

Needless to say she was deeply disturbed and a bit angry.

The second time was after we broke up (nothing to do with the above). I was going around with a married woman some seven years my senior whose husband was an Army Sergeant in Korea. Of course we shared her bed besides traveling around the area to see things (donít ask me, know, what, I just know it was a fun time for both of us). So much fun after a few months shortly before her husband was due to return she talked to me about leaving her husband to marry me. WHOW!! Thatís not in the cards.

I went back to that speaking without conscious thought, again it is hard to describe. Her husband was due back in about a month so I told her exactly what was going to happen with us for the next month, what we were going to do, when, where, etc. It was knowledge without thinking, it just came. The lady in question was skeptical and totally unbelieving. I didnít press it but knew it was going to go just as I said. And guess what, everything I told her came to pass in just the order I told her. Needless to say she eventually decided she didnít want to see me anymore, she preferred her husband to me.
For some reason I never had more experiences like that. I suspect I suppressed those abilities. However I am adept at hypnotism.

While I the USAF I met another airman who was into hypnotism trying to do some sort of experimenting and as I was strongly into SiFi and believed in odd things (Iíd always had an open mind; I was a hippy before hippies were invented). We talked about it and he was interested in my becoming part of their experiments. At that time I wanted to be hypnotized so I could more easily learn various disciplines.

Unfortunately, for me, I seem to be un-hypnotizable but found I had the talent to hypnotize others quite easily. (Another long story Iíll leave for later if anyone is interested).

From 2001 until this year when I finally absolutely retired; Iíd retired before a couple of times but it didnít take, I was an Over Size Load escort (Pilot Car driver). I donít know if some things that happened really count as psychic experiences but on numerous occasions while I was leading a load, I made a wrong turn going off the permitted route. On no occasion, as has happened with other pilot cars, did I find an alternate route to get back on route that required a tow truck or problems with overhead wires, trees or parked cars. All routes I decided to use were not only acceptable but quite doable.

So here I am looking to increase, no, return, to developing my latent psychic abilities. Iíve gotten a couple of books, a Rider tarot deck and am going thru an on line course for reading tarot cards by Joan Bunning and registered in this and the ďOnline Psychic ForumĒ.

I guess that is enough for a first posting.
