You know I've never really paid much attention to the warning label on toothpaste but this morning, for some reason, I did. I read the label and saw all this stuff like sodium lauryl sulfate, food dyes, and propylene glycol, triclosan? What is this stuff? Does anybody know?

Some deodorant soaps contain antibacterial agents to prevent odor. After reading that article I stopped using deodorant/antibacterial soap. Not because of what it might do to me but because of what it is doing to the environment.
Additionally, triclosan penetrates the skin and enters the bloodstream more easily than previously thought, and has turned up everywhere from aquatic environments to human breast milk in troubling quantities.
...
“Triclosan is found in virtually everyone’s home and is pervasive in the environment,” said lead author Isaac Pessah. “These findings provide strong evidence that the chemical is of concern to both human and environmental health.”
It is unfortunate that so many consumer products contain harmful chemicals and we don't even know when we are poisoning ourselves and the environment.
