Play alone. I'm just pointing out Julie's disconnected thought that mere drops of water would cause problems.

I'm sorry. It's a pet peeve of mine.

How about we try Chinese Water Torture? That involves drops.

On the contrary - I have been involved in making homoeopathic medicine.

Ok so how basic do I have to go here - right back to therapeutic efficacy?

Start here:
Dana Ullman: Homeopathy Vindicated as Cost-Effective by Swiss Government

Believe me, if I was to give you a homochord of Miams at very high potency - say MM or higher, you would really feel it. If you doubt me, let's try it. I'm happy to play my part if you are too. I will even supply the remedy. In fact I would have to supply it most likely as no homoeopath in his or her right mind would give it to you - but don't worry, I'm not in my right mind...hahaha. I will require a signed consent form releasing me from responsibility and saying you gave informed consent to participate and were warned of the possible consequences.

This is an email extract from the last person I worked with who had taken a remedy that wasn't indicated for them (one not prescribed by me I might add):

Did not do well last night, hardly slept. Heart action much worse, pounding and keeping me awake and feet numb. Frightened, but holding steady so far...

Any other takers? After all I wouldn't want to be accused of succumbing to post hoc ergo propter hoc. The more the merrier!

If you take chemical medicine and you take the wrong chemicals it can make you sick. If you use energy medicine and you use the wrong energies or the wrong potencies it can make you sick. Even when you take the right ones they initially tend to make you sick - known as the healing crisis, or a chuck out, before making you better. High potencies in particular needed to be handled with care as they can provoke an aggressive response.

You address the accusation of succumbing to post hoc ergo propter hoc by suggesting that someone takes a homeopathic preparation and attributing whatever happens afterward to that preparation? That's actually a demonstration of the fallacy.

How about doing a double-blind test instead?

I'm aware of what it means. This is why I suggested multiple participants. Remember its not me requiring any proof.

But multiple participants doesn't make any difference (except to give those participating in the fallacy some company). Why aren't you suggesting a demonstration which isn't fallacious, instead?

I am offering people an opportunity for a personal experience. They may exercise their free will. Anything more would not meet minimum ethics standards.

You are offering people the personal experience of participating in a post hoc ergo propter hoc demonstration. Rather than dispelling the accusation that anyone has succumbed to the fallacy, it confirms it.
