Default What is the difference between various yoga systems?

I'm not very knowledgable in yoga and its different approaches. Anyone knows what the differences are?

At least tell about the one yoga system that you know.

Hi,
Spirit, soul and body is, as I see it, the basis for various systems. Regardless if religion, healing, martial arts, occultism, mysticism, theology, and philosophy, you will find one or more of those attributes involved in some way. Depending on the country, nationality, or race, numerous system names will be present to describe their process or system. Mostly one will hear Eastern or Western applied to the nomenclature. With some, the focus is on body leading on to the mind. Others will focus on the mind leading to the body. Great difference between the two methods. Yoga and Qigong have much in common, but are worlds apart in how accomplished and terminology. Now one can go on line and rapidly reach overload status, information wise. I found Qigong more to my liking.
Not quite what you were asking about, so here are a few links.

Default Types of Yoga

Hello, I am a yogi known as a Bhakta. Your question is most interesting. It is very important to understand what you are asking. A spectrum can be used to illustrate the differences between the myriad forms of yoga. On one end of the spectrum the yoga is mainly conerned with mental and spiritual wellbeing. On the other end, the yoga is mainly conerned with developing physical well being. Yoga originally had nothing to do with physical activity and was only about devotion to God. That is why the highest forms of yoga are not physical at all. They involve mantra. So for example, there is Hath-yoga for physical vitality, Kundalin-yoga for working with Divine energy (Shakti), and Bhakti-yoga for devotion unto God (Lord Sri Krishna). Bhakti is actually the highest form of yoga, most powerful and effective. That does not mean that other forms of yoga are not also highly effective. Man likes variet, so God made many forms of yoga! There is also Karma yoga, which empowers the practitioner to change fate and the fabric of detiny and karma itself. I strongly advise you to visit the Shakti Karma Bhakti Yoga International Society for excellent answers to this kind of question.

I would also love to see the complete list of every kind of yoga there is. I personally am into Kriya Tantric Yoga and Hatha Yoga a great deal. I found a list and I would like to post it, but I will have to wait because I can't get the Italics to work on this computer (I have another one I use) and I will never plagurize. When I post it I will provide the link where I got the information from, so anyone can follow up on it if they choose! I will return this evening to do so!
