I haven't done a book report since school

Here goes.
I looked at the book's website before I bought it (there were no reviews at
the time) - and wasn't quite sure what to expect - maybe something 'dry' but
'informative'.
But what a pleasant surprise - it's a poltergeist story that explains paranormal phenomena (from a research perspective) but in a really easy-going way. It doesn't feel like a crash course in parapsychology at all, and it wasn't dry either. A clever plot, interesting characters and some nice snippets of humour meant I blitzed through it. Really enjoyable.
There are some 60 odd pages of endnotes that cover things like telepathy, Out of Body experiences and ghosts, and I found myself dipping in and out of them. They're written as popular science, but the key concepts were easy to understand. This story/endnotes approach is an unusual way of structuring a book, but I thought it worked really well. An “A”.
