I HIGHLY recommend www.closertotruth.com consciousness section. All materialists of course, but highly educational. If there's a religious guy speaking just skip him and continue to the philosophers/physicists/neuroscientists - too much bias [there was a religious guy on that thought his consciousness was created by his brain but that God listened to his prayers!!!!! Wowee! God really cares about how physical law unfolds in your brain!].

Free will section is interesting.

also, don't forget, so many books available for free from www.books.google.com. You can learn about ANY topic in its entirety for free.

World of Strange Powers - Metal Bending, Magic and Mind over Matter

An interesting show. They show a French man bending a metal rod, apparently this was done before Geller's time. They only show Geller doing spoons, so perhaps some people are confusing the two individuals?

These pics were taken by a photographer in Copenhagen between 1940-1945. His name was Sven Türck. He published a book in 1945 called Jeg var dus med Aanderne (I was on Familiar Terms with Spirits). He conducted seances with various mediums and the participants wore phosphorescent bands on their foreheads and wrists. In addition, the edges and legs of some of the furniture had these bands on them. Perhaps these are all hoaxed but they're really cool looking :

This one looks to be a photoshop of the first picture. Perhaps someone added luminescent bands going towards the ceiling and blurred the face of one of the participants- but the other people seem to be in the exact same position? Not sure if this was part of the original series or not as I hadn't seen it before.

By the way, I knew about these pics because of a fantastic book that accompanied an exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. It's called The Perfect Medium: Photography and the Occult.

Online papers on consciousness

Over 3000 papers on philosophy of mind, models from neuroscience, etc. Staggering collection.

Thanks for that!

Yet being the psychic that I am, I predict that some here will say that none of them address the "real" problem of consciousness!

Thanks for this, but unfortunately none of them address the REAL problem of consciousness.
