Did you read the studies Stvenson did with him in a medium experiment? He comes up with full names, right? But he apparenty throws out a bunch of names per reading. The thing is, he says that he can't always get something on the sitter's parents, for example, but will key into, say grandparents. In the study, to get an effect,they went and interviewed the sitter's families, too. They got an effect size by someone in the family, or even a brother in -law, had some sort of connection to the name.
He basically plays six degrees of separation with these families, but by using local names you don't usually need to get to six! From what I saw on some report (can't remember the link) he is thought to have a photographic memory. Further, he dealt with particularly violent deaths which are more notirious. I think Stevenson's follow up study, with tighter controls, showed no effect at all.
Then Renki one is a bit more elaborate, but carried out over many months. Yes, I do smell a rat with this guy! |
