Default Richard Dawkins would Like to try hallucinogens

I've never tried hallucinogens but I've heard that DMT delivers the most profound experiences. I'd like for Dawkins to try a full dose.

Quote:
"I would be very curious, I must say, to take, perhaps not that drug (ayahuasca), but something like LSD or mescaline," he responded. "I would be prepared to do that under proper medical supervision, if I were absolutely convinced that it would do me no lasting harm. And I would actually like to do it."

Dawkins, however, left no room for doubt about how he would view the experience. "I think it very unlikely that, whatever happened to me, I would interpret it as indicating anything supernatural," said Dawkins. "I would on the contrary interpret it as a manifestation of what a wonderful thing the brain is, and how the brain can see and can experience even more things, under the right kinds of chemical stimulation..."

Blablabla ... Why not just take the drug and see what happens?

full dose of DMT or it doesn't count

this article was sent to me by an atheist who took DMT for the first time and came away genuinely perplexed by his experience and had to admit it didn't fit in with his materialistic worldview.
DMT Experience Everything Wrong with Today's Youth

somehow i don't think the fundamentalist Dawkins will allow for anything that has any chance of shaking his dogma.

He still seems a little too cautious for my taste. IMO, he should just read the research literature to see for himself that it's safe, and ask a trusted friend to monitor him.

How could a man of his age not have been exposed to LSD? What was he doing in the sixties?

And yeah, DMT is in a different ball park all together, Aya can be quite gentle as it slowly leads you into the experience. Despite the purge. I'd like to see him do some freebase or do it intravenously, It's more like being blasted into hyperspace and not nearly as gentle.

What is found is something so peculiar that the logical mind wrestles with the experience trying to come to terms with it. I can see him locking it up in the far corners of his mind, with his mind twisting and turning attempting to bury the experience. His world view would be turned upside down, although he'd never admit it. No money in that.

Richard may get to see himself as he truly is, perhaps for the first time in his entire life. Ego stripped and confronted with things he cannot even possibly imagine.

Man I would love to see it happen. Somebody hook him up!!

Ah, Dawkins, Dawkins, Dawkins.... I hold a similar opinion and interest in exploring the mind (if it can be done so legally and without any lasting harm).

How can hallucinogenic substances change a person's worldview to the point that they would suddenly accept the existence of something like psi? I don't understand that. There are plenty of people who have taken these substances who are the same as before or still skeptical and atheist.

DMT is interesting. 2 problems from my perspective. 1. no way afaik to get the good medical grade stuff like strassman used. 2. i have never heard of a single case where anyone reported any veridical component whatsoever to the experience, just bizarre stuff totally divorced from this reality (intricate geometry, alien machinery, elves, insects, reptiles, etc). so it is useless as an NDE proxy.
