Default Does evidence for etheric body deny the notiion of immaterial soul?

Hello All,
Lately I was thinking about this problem.I used to think, that if survival occurs,it is traditioinally thought that it involves some kind of immaterial soul.
But -lately I've read a lot about the evidence of so-called etheric body.No I have a dilemma: does the existence of etheric body deny the possibility of immaterial soul or they theoretically can co-exist? For example, theosophy suggests existence of multiple subtle bodies and soul as well..
Also,if there is only etherica body - how can it go with the possibility of reincarnation and so-often mentioned different levels in the afterlife?
Any thoughts would be appreciated

Let's suppose our essence is captured by our soul. Our physical bodies exist, hence are not incompatible with souls. So why should etheric bodies be incompatible with souls?

Esoteric theories claim that there are multiple extra-dimensional "bodies"--physical, etheric, astral and mental. They claim that the etheric dissipates soon after the death of the physical body, and that existence continues in astral and mental bodies. At some point, those are also shed--a process referred to as the "second death"--prior to the next incarnation. Their division of "spirit" (pure consciousness) and "form" includes non-physical astral and mental "matter." This process of spirit projected into form is referred to in the bible as "the light cast into darkness that did not comprehend it."

Cheers,
Bill

First off, I wouldn't mind getting the evidence etheric bodies being real before even considering whether their would bear our soul or not.

Yeah, I know I'm being mischievous... pardon me

Don't take it amiss, Alexander, but I think you worry too much about obscure stuff from dubious sources.
