The forums here are great, and kudos to Jacob for getting them going, but sometimes you just want a little lively interaction with each other in real time.

I've set up some chat rooms at Soul Motel Lobby for fans of Skeptiko and Mind-Energy.net. There's also a room for fans of Michael Prescott's blog and the Daily Grail.

The chat rooms are open 24/7 but I figured setting up a regularly scheduled nightly chat starting at 9PM (EST) would help kick things off.

Take a look around at Soul Motel Lobby and explore the rooms. If the regulars on this forum want to take their debate live every now and then, soulmotel.com is the place to do it.

Ian. Thanks for stopping by SoulMotel.com.

It's a work in progress, but for it to succeed, it's the people here who have to have the desire to take their conversation into a real time chat room.

I've made it easier to schedule chat times by adding a message board to the Soul Motel Lobby home page. There's a special room for Skeptiko fans to leave each other messages and set up future chat times.

I also wanted to schedule a LIVE Q&A with Alex so everyone can ask him questions about the show or about his Open Source Science experiements live, but he doesn't really know if anyone would be interested in that. So, if anyone would like to engage Alex live, let him know.

Additionally, I think it would be great for Jacob to organize LIVE Q&A's that can be moderated with people he is interested in - like Miroslav The Magnetic Man or others.

It's up to you guys now. I hope to see some of you there.

Sorry to sound a less than enthusiastic note, but I would have thought live chat was more relevant to sex/dating type sites!

Yes, David, you may be right about that. I may have to start arranging sexual liaisons between believers and skeptics, so then they really can screw with each other. I know, bad pun. :-(

I've come to realize that live chat may be as obsolete as the audio cassette. Why didn't anyone tell me?

However, wouldn't you like to ask Alex Tsakiris some questions in a chat room that he could respond to?
