Default Chinese medicine in China

A friend of mine returned from a 3-month trip to China where she was continuing her education in TCM.
One of the interesting things that I've learned from her story is that in China there are whole hospitals of TCM which are independent of the regular western medicine and people can choose where they want to be treated. The TCM hosiptals are large, government supportred and treat great amount of people.

It seems that there, Chinese medicine is not considered as "alternative medicine" but rather like a very regular one.

Smile TCM as Alternative Medicine

As you say in China they have alternative medicine hospitals, this is because that is what they are 'alternative'. However, in the west we have a different viewpoint, we call things like TCM 'Complementary' because the trend here is to use more than one method, and it should work along the lines of complementing any other medicine being given. I trained as a Radionic Practitioner, and we used to think of it as being a bit like a wheel, where there are many spokes, each one being a a different type of medicine albeit complementary or allopathic. The trick is to find the 'right' spoke for the person or their condition. Many times we could 'feel' that a person or their condition was not right for you, then we were trained to tell that patient, that we didn't feel we could help them, but to try then to help them find the right 'spoke or spokes' for them.

So it is all really a question of viewpoint.

They have Western Medicine in China as well, and even the TCM hospitals have X-Ray and other regular equipment but overall the attitude towards TCM is much more regular, so to speak, and when it's better for the patient, they use it instead of western.

Although some forms of allopathic or western medicine may be used in China, it is more natural to use TCM or other eastern methods, because they are more familiar than western allopathic medicine. For me now because of my training over many years, it is more natural for me to use natural medicine in some form or another, than allopathic medicine

This is great that people are cared so much in china….even in UK it’s the same. The heath aspect is taken with much care…..even pharmacies are very helpful. I use to consult this directory; United Kingdom Pharmacy Directory for all my medical help.
