Default Acupuncture treatment is effective, Quit smoking

Smoking injures the respiratory, cardiovascular, and the nervous systems of the human body to different extent. It is one of the important causes of increase in the occurrence and death rates of cancer, chronic bronchitis, cor pulmonale, gastric and duodenal ulcers, and cirrhosis. Withdrawal syndrome during abstinence from smoking refers to general weakness, irritability, yawning, tastelessness in the mouth and tongue, or even mental dullness, oppressing feeling in the chest, anxiety and dysesthesia.
Etiology and Pathogenesis
Name of this disease is not seen in TCM, but there are similar manifestations in cough, depression, somnolence, and epilepsy. TCM holds that inhale of the harmful materials in the tobacco over a long period of time will cause imbalance between yin-yang, disharmony of qi and blood in zang-fu organs, meridians and collaterals. Puncturing related points may regulate qi and blood in zang-fu organs, meridians and collaterals, balance yin-yang to remove the addiction caused by smoking.
Syndrome Differentiation
There is a long time history of smoking, with 10-20 or over 20 cigarettes every day. Once people stop smoking, there is strong desire to smoke. If this can not be met, there appears lassitude, anxiety, yawning, lacrimation, hypersalivation, tastelessness in the mouth, discomfort in the throat, oppressing feeling in the chest, nausea, vomiting, or even trembling of muscles and dysesthesia.

Acupuncture has been shown in a recent double-blind study to be as effective as randomly poking someone with a toothpick, without even puncturing the skin. It's not a cure for anything.

Also: Dirty Spammer.

Yes, but that is also a treatment in acupuncture. Besides, skin is less resistant to electricity in the meridians. And acupuncture is sometimes used in place of anaesthetics in surgerys or to replace painmedication or as a treatment to painmedication.

When something is older than science as we know it today you really can't simply dismiss the whole idea because of one study (which isn't even accurate). And it's not accurate simply because "randomly poking someone" with a stick is a method known in acupuncture. And the randomnes is countered by the fact that human body is pretty much full of pressurepoints and meridians.

Thanks and goodnight (also sorry for not knowing all the correct prhases, english isn't my primary language.)

Are you suggesting that any contact at all is classified as acupuncture? Because if that's the standard, then the label becomes somewhat meaningless.

And who cares if it's an old technique? Does that make it valid? If the effects are the result of a misunderstanding of what's going on, and that misunderstanding is perpetuated, it can be both old and wrong. You're making the argument from antiquity; it's a logical fallacy.

(People have believed in Jesus for a long time, but that doesn't make Christianity factually accurate. For example)

The study recently performed showed no difference between "standard" acupuncture and non-invasive toothpick touching. If both methods are "acupuncture" (which is not the point of the study) are equally valid, why would the puncturing ever come about? If I can be cured of something by gentle touch instead of being jabbed with a needle, I'm going to take the gentle touch. Who would pick the invasive treatment?

It's all bunk, man. The effect is placebo, and nothing more. There's not anything interesting or special about acupuncture, and there never was.

The only way acupuncture could cure constipation is if you used the needles to loosen your stool.

Laser acupuncture is another method that helps for quit smoking. It is a non-needle technique, which uses hand-held electrode stimulation. This technique was brought for the people those who cannot tolerate. For people who fear needles or just can’t tolerate the sensation of how the needle feels when entered into the body laser acupuncture is used. Laser acupuncture is not recommended as the only form of treatment to be used. It should be combined with medicine and another form of acupuncture treatment.

The feeling of laser acupuncture to quit smoking feels different from regular acupuncture in one key way. With laser acupuncture to quit smoking, one simply feels what most people describe as a warm, pulsating, tingling sensation at the point of the laser. Some people say they don’t feel the laser at all. Thus laser technique has done a lot to cure smokers from quitting smoking. There are some acupressure methods also to quit smoking.

i would like to add the emotional factors there for making the contents more board of coverage.

smoking can bring the emotional benefit especially in the developing countries like China. Smoking is a sort of social networking tools likely beer in such country. People transfer the friendship emotion via the exchanging of the cigrette. In their unconscious, stop smoking means stop social networking, it harms too much in the life. so, people cannot stop it.

for the students, smoking is a symbol of making people afraid of them, usually, it's for the bad boy. so, they use smoking to protect themseleves.

if the doctors and the government can make the promotion labeling smoking to be the symbol of loser, then, really a certain percentage of people would quit it.
