When i was married, we moved into a house that i think ended our marriage. Strange things where happening, the kettle going on on its own, getting woken up by something that feels like its strangling me and were i couldnt move a muscle. I was at that time pretty freaked at what was happening until one day i told my then wife, she said thank god for that for she had been getting attacked in her sleep too. This went on for two years till finally the grid in the front of our garden burst and we had raw sewage floating around the garden, it was then we got out. That was five years ago and i have come a long way spiritually, i do now know that the actual attacks where my higher self inducing me to have an OBE because i was too frightened to let go, it felt like an attack, now i do have OBE's just for being less afraid of sort of being ripped out your body. I actually like them now as i only float round the house along walls and the ceiling. There is things out there to be explained but i think it is fear in most people that stops us learning a lot more. Now today i find a lot of coincidences but i am not suprised anyway, its my intuition that i trust more than ever. Its seems that when you grow up spiritually that nothing out of the ordinary bothers you like it used to in the beginning, it used to be WOW but now its ok yes whatever.

That's interesting Leajay. Could you tell more of your OBE experiences and how you came to have them? Perhaps you should start a separate thread for that, though.

When I was younger, we lived in a house which all of those in my family inclined to believe in such things were convinced was haunted; a baby's cries would come from the child monitor when no one was home, water would come from the faucets when no one was near them, and my younger sister, 2 at the time, would find herself in the hallway, having miraculously climbed over the child-gate in her doorway. Also, she would wake up nearly every night, for a period of time, at 3 in the morning, regardless of when she went to bed.

To my family, this was clear evidence of the paranormal. To me, it was evidence that the plumbing in the house wasn't of high quality, forcing the water out at odd times; that there were, shockingly, other families in the neighborhood who used child monitors (in a later house, we could hear our neighbors chatting on their cordless phone, and in my own first home, I was able, on more than one occasion, to have a conversation with neighbors because the lines were so crossed [I believe I unintentionally interrupted some phone sex]); that something in the neighborhood made a sound at the same time every night, or that a neighbor worked late shifts; that my little sister was able to climb the child-gate in the room.

Similarly, by your description I'd say you experienced some hypnagogic dreams, and your wife may have, either (this is not uncommon). Also, vivid dreams are not paranormal. Also, the grid burst? We had sewage problems in the house we're in currently, but that's because the roots of a tree grew into our pipe, not because of anything supernatural.

This isn't to say that the involvement of "paranormal" forces are impossible, just that more mundane explanations seem to fit better.
