Question Please help....

Hi,

I am new around here but I can already see that I share something in common with some of you. I can't go to a spiritualist church in my area because there aren't any and I cant go around asking for help publicly because I'd be labeled loony in my country.

About 2 years ago, I was supposedly sleeping but I can hear the things happening around me (dog barking, people coming in my room, even conversations of people). Now, I knew I was not awake because I cannot move any part of my body to get up and I remember shouting for help but my bedmate said I was mumbling. I had this feeling of being drawn into something deep which I feared all the more. I've read that the right thing to do is to succumb to the deep feeling and see what happens but I am very afraid to do it. I've had this strange event happen more than 5 times in my life and I'd like to seek help explaining it. I've read Richard Bach's book "The Bridge across Forever" and have concluded that it is the same state that happened to me.

What is the significance of this event in my life? Can I practice to do it at will? What positive things can I learn from it?

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions.

Hello Iclee!

Just wanted to let you know that you are not alone!! This kind of thing has happened to me also! At first it was scary until I read about it and it all made sense after! Out body experience! But Iam not an expert in this area! I just know a little about it! I enjoy these experiences not that they happen often! They take me places and to visit people. After they happen I will remember something, like I have seen this before or this has happened already. This is all I can say because it is all I know. And you are not a looney! You are normal!

Shay!

Googling the expression "sleep paralysis" might help you to find an explanation for your symptoms. That is very common and nothing to worry about!

I've experienced something similar numorus times. It happened most often when I was laying down for a nap or after I woke up and was trying to go back to bed. The dreams I'd have were very vivid and the sounds were very real. The sounds I heard were so loud, as if someone was in the room next to me. I would try to wake but it was difficult. I couldn't call out I couldn't move either. At first I was afraid, but as soon as I let go of the fear the experience was more of journey inward than a panic to stop it. I suggest you try this again and leave the fear behind.

Ya... This happens to me alot... my eyes want to open but cant seem to get past about a millimetre or two.. lol... I always hear talking or whispering around my bed and I learned not to fear this state... The only problem is, my whole body feels electrified or something... I don't know how to explain it... It's a good feeling and I am not scared or anything, It is just weird...
take care
